kelli rae adams’ Forever in Your Debt immediately inspired our audience, who over two years filled the 900+ bowls with coins in gestures of solidarity that collectively visualize the nation’s student debt crisis. On June 8 the artist will fill the final vessels, and in the following days empty them and tally the collected coins. Beginning the filling again for the installation’s last month (its last day on view is July 7), adams emphasizes the ongoing student debt burden — the promises of relief unfulfilled.

The artist will make brief remarks on Saturday, June 8, at 3:30pm in the gallery to mark the occasion, followed by a celebration in the courtyard.

The artist will be on-site throughout the day during MASS MoCA’s 25th Anniversary Community Celebration on May 25, as well as daily during Wilco’s Solid Sound on June 28–30. Additionally, the artist will be on-site:

May 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 26, noon–5pm
June 1, 8, 15, 16, 22, 23, noon–5pm
July 5, 6, 7, noon–5pm
